Florida Atlantic University is dedicated to the idea of lifelong learning that involves an intellectually stimulating experience. This is evident by their commitment to the redesigning of the interior architecture of the current media center to a Learning Commons environment.
Broward College will be providing intern teachers to be used
to lower class size allowing additional 1:1 time between teachers and
students.
A community substation and EMS program will be incorporated into our design. Through Fire Administration, Fire Rescue Operations, Emergency Medical Services and ambulance transportation, Fire Prevention and Life Safety students will be immersed into the many different careers available to them in the 21st Century.
Dr. Pappy, Medical Director of Florida Medical Center (FMC), is working hand-in-hand with Lauderhill 6-12 to provide experiential learning while engaging students in many job opportunities throughout the medical industry. Staff at FMC will mentor and tutor students virtually which in turn will help to increase students’ morale and achievement. FMC will be a vital part of the success of STEM-MED, their support is monumental and will impact students and their choices as they prepare to be college and career ready.
YMCA offers a one-of-a-kind partnership to Lauderhill 6-12 by extending the students learning experience ensuring afterschool curricula, academic enrichment clubs, tutoring, and mentoring aligned with the school’s curriculum and vision.
